Important information about the Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Until further notice all of our Queue & Wait, Test & Go and routine appointment services are suspended to help reduce the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19) and to enable some of our staff to be re-deployed. Although we have limited capacity we are still trying to help as many people over the phone as we can and if you need to be seen in a clinic this can be arranged after you have spoken with one of our nurses.

Please call 01904 721111 (8:30am - 6pm) Monday to Thursday and 8:30 to 4pm Friday to arrange a discussion with one of our clinical staff. If you feel the issue is URGENT e.g. you need emergency contraception, HIV post-exposure treatment or have new and significant symptoms, please let the booking team know. Our 'contact us' option on the website can be used but there may be some delays in responding to non-urgent queries.

If you are under 18 and/or are living in a situation where you are unable to safely call us, please text us on 07980 973337. We will reply to you within 1 - 2 working days. Please note that this texting service is not for routine enquiries. If you feel your safety is at risk please contact the Police.

Clinic Closures -  we are currently only operating clinics in York, Selby, Harrogate, Scarborough, Northallerton, Catterick and Skipton - all other clinics are temporarily suspended.

Please note that ALL patients, visitors and staff are required to wear a mask or face covering in all NHS buildings. If you do not have your own face covering we can provide you with a mask when you attend your pre-arranged appointment. Thank you for your understanding.

ONLINE SERVICES - free condoms are available via the website for residents of York and North Yorkshire. Online testing is available for those most at risk of STIs or who have been advised to do a test

Information required for the chlamydia testing service

Your name, address and personal details will be held and treated as highly confidential information, used solely by the YorSexualHealth Chlamydia Screening Programme and the NCSP. If you wish to request a postal chlamydia test, we need to know your name, address to which you want the kit posted and your age. This service is available to 16 - 24 year olds living/staying in North Yorkshire. If the address you provide is not within North Yorkshire, we will not be able to post a kit to you, but will forward your details to your local Chlamydia Screening Programme. If you are over 25 years old you will need to contact your local sexual health/GUM clinic. If you are under 16 years old, you can still get tested but will need to speak to a doctor, nurse or youth worker first.

Use of your information

The information that we collect and store relating to you is only used to enable us to send you a postal chlamydia test. Further information about the testing service and the results will be sent with the testing kit or you can contact YorSexualHealth for more information. We will not pass on any of your personal details to any other party outside of the NCSP.

The information you supply to us electronically via the request a testing kit page is transmitted over an SSL encrypted connection, this means it is very unlikely that your information could be intercepted and read. This is a much more secure method to request a testing kit than using standard email.
However, we cannot accept any responsibility for any damages or loss whatsoever caused by the interception of your personal information.
