Condom and Chlamydia Testing Kit Scheme for Professionals

get it on (5)

Get It On is a targeted scheme offered by YorSexual Health, designed to support professionals in promoting safer sex and sexual health services amongst their service users.

This scheme offers training and resources to equip professionals with the knowledge and confidence to:

  • Signpost individuals to appropriate sexual health services
  • Distribute condoms and promote safer sex
  • Offer chlamydia screening kits and facilitate their return, helping to reduce rates of undiagnosed infection

Whether you work in education, youth services, healthcare, or community settings, Get It On provides practical tools and guidance to help you play a vital role in supporting sexual health and wellbeing. By signing up, you’ll be joining a network of professionals across York and North Yorkshire who are committed to empowering individuals to take control of their sexual health in a safe, informed, and confidential way

Report Required

Each quarter, as part of your membership to the Get It On scheme, you're required to complete a report on how the scheme has been working in your organisation.

We're keen to hear about your successes and challenges; how many condoms you have given out and to who; your experience of signposting to kits or into service; and the types of service user you are engaging with.

Our Outreach Team reviews the information you provide to monitor how the scheme is being used, identify opportunities for improvement, and provide updates to our commissioners.

Important Information

To order condoms under the GIO scheme, please ensure the following:

  • You are the named GIO lead for your organisation; have attended our training; and will submit the quarterly reporting when requested
  • You have an up to date DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check
  • You have up to date Safeguarding training

A free condom demonstrator will be sent to each organisation signed up to GIO.

There will be no charge to you for condoms and lubricant ordered as part of GIO: all product and delivery costs will be met by YorSexualHealth. We ask that you fulfil your agreement under the scheme to distribute condoms according to the requirements in the training, so as to avoid wastage.

In order to minimise unnecessary cost, we will routinely offer a limited choice of products: – a choice of three sizes of latex condom and sachets of lubricant.

Due to the high cost of non-latex condoms (over £35.00 per box as opposed to £7), these will not routinely be available for you to order. If you have a patient/service user with a confirmed latex allergy, or would like a small supply for those who think they may have an allergy, you will be able to request non-latex condoms directly from YorSexual Health.

Individuals with a suspected latex allergy should ideally be offered a consultation with a clinician prior to being provided with a regular supply of latex-free condoms.

If you have any queries about the products available to order online please contact LTC Healthcare
