Disruption to Testing

YorSexual Health is part of York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, who are making changes to their laboratory system.

What's happening?

Between 29th August 2025 and 5th September 2025, there will be significant disruption to testing across the service, as the system is changed. This means that only urgent tests may be carried out.

What does this mean?

During this time, we will only be able to take urgent samples. This means our asymptomatic testing services will be unavailable. Our Test and Go (TAG) clinics will not be running, and we will not be able to test you in our Walk In and Wait clinics.

What if I have symptoms?

If you are experiencing unusual symptoms for you, please continue to contact us as normal. Our Central Bookings Team will be able to advise you on the best course of action.

Can I get tested another way?

You can also contact your GP if you are experiencing symptoms, although please be advised that they may also be experiencing the disruption. If you are under 25, please visit our Young People page for information on testing options.
