Important information about the Coronavirus (COVID-19)

In order to help reduce the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19) we are offering telephone appointments and postal tests/treatments whenever possible. If you need to be seen in a clinic this can be arranged after you have spoken with a nurse on the phone.

During lockdown 2 we recommend people who live and work outside of North Yorkshire and York access sexual health services local to them to reduce travel  between regions

We are now open Saturday - York Monkgate , 9-12 noon.

We offer Urgent Same Day Access Appointments and Routine Planned Appointments. Please call 01904 721111 between 8:15am - 5pm Monday to Thursday, between 8:15am to 4pm on a Friday and between 9am-12pm on a Saturday to arrange a discussion with one of our clinical staff and they will arrange an appointment for you. Our 'contact us' option on the website can be used but there may be some delays in responding to non-urgent queries.

If you are under 18 and/or are living in a situation where you are unable to safely call us, please text us on 07980 973337. We will reply to you within 1 - 2 working days. Please note that this texting service is not for routine enquiries. If you feel your safety is at risk please contact the Police.

If you are 18 and under and live in York there are now planned appointments and same day access slots available on a Monday 4pm-7pm, call 01904 721111 or text 07973 775692 to make an appointment.

ONLINE SERVICES - free condoms are available via the website for residents of York and North Yorkshire. Online testing is available for those most at risk of STIs or who have been advised to do a test

Please note that ALL patients, visitors and staff are required to wear a mask or face covering in all NHS buildings. If you do not have your own face covering we can provide you with a mask when you attend your pre-arranged appointment. Thank you for your understanding.

I have symptoms that I think might be a Sexually Transmitted Infection

It can be tricky to determine what symptoms might mean that you have a sexually transmitted infection.

Typical symptoms for people who have a vagina include:

Typical symptoms for people who have a penis include:

If you have any of these symptoms please call 01904 721111 for a same day access slot or an appointment. If you are 19 or under see our clinics and services page for Young Person's Queue and Wait times.

If you have not had sex or if you have not had a change of partner then your symptoms are less likely to be due to a sexually transmitted infection and your GP might be the best place to go for advice.
