I want to have or exchange my implant

Implant fit and exchange

We offer appointments to fit ,and exchange contraceptive implants. This is usually a two-step process of initial discussion followed by a procedure appointment. The first step would be  a consultation  to discuss your history and check  that this is the right method for you. This consultation can be done over the phone or in clinic. Please read the information on the Sexwise website here before attending. Please call 01904 721111 or see Clinics and Services for our opening times.

An implant procedure would usually be undertaken in a booked appointment but at times if we have the capacity we may be able to do this within a same day access slot.

If the implant was fitted more than three years ago you will need to ensure you are not pregnant by using a reliable method of contraception in addition to your expired implant.

Implant removal

We offer appointments to remove contraceptive implants. This is usually a two-step process of initial telephone discussion followed by a procedure appointment. The first step would be a consultation  to discuss your history and discuss your reasons for removal as we may be able to offer you alternative ways to support you to manage side effects. This consultation can be done over the phone or in clinic. Please read the information on the Sexwise website here before attending. Please call 01904 721111 or see Clinics and Services for our opening times.
