  • New lump/s in neck, groin or under your arm

AND

  2. Have you had contact with someone with confirmed Monkeypox in the 21 days before symptom onset?

In the event you answer yes to any of the above please stay at home and isolate and call NHS 111 or your local sexual health services.

Things I can do to relieve symptoms of suspected Monkeypox virus

  • Take regular paracetamol if safe to do so (do not exceed recommended dosage)
  • Keep yourself hydrated by drinking plenty of water
  • Keep any blisters or sores clean and covered with light cotton clothing or dressing if appropriate
  • Where possible self isolate away from household contacts and pets

Condom Ordering

We are currently experiencing problems with the supply of regular condoms. Please be aware that you may be sent ribbed, dotted or flavoured condoms in place of your preferred order.

If possible please delay your order until April (or order a smaller number) - we expect normal supplies to be resumed by then.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Please refer to the YSH condom distribution service information document for details about the service and eligibility

You cannot continue with your order untill you have confirmed all staff distributing condoms have:

  • Manager’s approval
  • Appropriate DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check
  • Appropriate Safeguarding training
  • Up to date CDS training - click here for training details
  • Please contact us if you have any queries or are unable to comply with these requirements

Please confirm that your organisation is fully compliant with the above

N.B. Free condom demonstrators will be given to all individuals trained within the service.

There will be no charge to you for condoms and lubricant ordered within the CDS; all product and delivery costs will be met by YorSexualHealth.

If your order value is close to the threshold for free delivery you will be prompted to order an additional product to avoid the £6-50 delivery charge.

In order to minimise unnecessary costs and wastage, the CDS will routinely offer a limited choice of products: – a choice of three sizes of latex condom, mixed flavours and sachets of lubricant. A full range of condom types and associated products will be available through the Specialist Sexual Health Service (SSHS) and Community Outreach Services.

Due to the high cost of non-latex condoms (approximately £35-00 per box as opposed to £6-50), these will not routinely be available for you to order. If you have a patient/service user with a confirmed latex allergy, or would like a small supply for those who think they may have an allergy, you will be able to request non-latex condoms direct from the SSHS.

Individuals with a suspected latex allergy should ideally be offered a consultation with a clinician prior to being provided with a regular supply of latex-free condoms.

If you require alternative supplies to those routinely available through the CDS, please contact us or e-mail to yorsexualhealth@york.nhs.uk, tel 01904 725440

If you have any queries about the products available to order online please contact LTC Healthcare

Orders will usually be despatched within 2 working days of order and will be delivered by UK Mail (07.00 – 19.00). A signature will be required as proof of delivery – this does not have to be your CDS Lead. Please let us know if there are times of day that are not suitable for deliveries. Please also provide any particular instructions (if required) to enable the driver delivering your order to find you.
