Counselling

YorSexualHealth (YSH) runs a free and confidential counselling service for people living within York and North Yorkshire who wish to seek support around different aspects of sexual health.

You can be referred by a member of the YSH staff,  you can contact us directly or you can self-refer online here.

Our counsellors are experienced professionals, both in counselling and sexual health and are members of recognised professional associations.

This service is provided from locations across North Yorkshire and in York, and is available to anyone registered at any of our YorSexual Health services. Please see our guidance document for more details.

Our Community Outreach Team can provide 1:1 support for those times when you want to talk to someone in a confidential, supportive and safe environment. We can discuss a range of issues including mental health, coming out, new HIV diagnoses and risk taking behaviour such as drug use and unprotected sex. For more information please click here or call the Yorkshire MESMAC York office on 01904 620400.

If you have been raped, assaulted or abused - help is available. If you cannot come to our clinic, there are several sources which you can access, click here for more information.
